Leave as soon as Morris asks
Morris, the apothecary at Checkpoint Rest Town, asks you to rescue Rodge. Treat this as urgent: do not repeatedly rest or leave it while you complete unrelated journeys.
Search beyond the first cave room
- Find the guard Rikhard in the square where the oxcart arrives.
- Ask about the missing child. He identifies Putrid Cave and adds a yellow destination marker.
- Follow the marker to the search area and clear the wolves in the first cave chamber.
- Look for the green uphill slope leading farther inside. The first room is not the end of the search.
- Defeat the wolves in the inner chamber and speak to Rodge if you reached him in time.
Bring Rodge all the way back
Escort Rodge to Morris’s apothecary, checking that he is still following during the journey. Reaching Morris with Rodge triggers the successful rescue.
If you find only Scrap of Cloth, the rescue has timed out. Bring it back to Morris to resolve that outcome, but it is not a successful rescue. Finding the entrance or clearing the outer wolves alone does not complete the task.
