Dragon's Dogma 2

Dragon's Dogma 2: Useful Augments for Weight, Defense and Stamina

At a glance

Start with the problem you need to solve: Thew for weight, Mettle for physical defense, Exaltation for stamina recovery, Endurance for stamina capacity, or Vigor for climbing.

Match the Augment to the problem

Your problem Augment Training and trade-off
Too much carried weight Thew Fighter rank 6, 1,800 DCP; useful for exploration and collecting materials
Physical attacks overwhelm you Mettle Fighter rank 2, 300 DCP; improves physical defense rather than magick defense
Stamina recovers too slowly Exaltation Look for it while training Mage toward rank 9
Your stamina pool feels too small Endurance Look for it while training Archer toward rank 4
Long climbs drain your stamina Vigor Look for it while training Thief toward rank 8; aimed at climbing and pinning

Check the vocation guild’s description and unlock requirements before committing to a longer training detour.

Learn it, then return to your preferred vocation

Spend DCP at the guild to learn an available Augment, then equip it on your chosen vocation. You do not need to remain in the vocation that taught it.

If weight is your main frustration, prioritize Thew. If physical survival is the immediate problem, Mettle is an earlier Fighter unlock. For stamina, distinguish capacity, recovery, and climbing cost instead of treating them as the same benefit.

Make room for what your party needs

An exploration loadout and a climbing-focused boss loadout can have different priorities. Vigor is relevant to long climbs; it does not mean every weapon skill becomes cheaper. Likewise, Mettle does not provide protection against every kind of damage.

Choose the benefit that addresses your current shortfall, then revisit the choice when your equipment or party changes.
